Keeping travel personal
We live in a world that is becoming increasingly automated but we believe that travel is about people. AI chatbots, automated booking systems, self-service check-ins and digital guides are making many aspects of travel more efficient, but also, sometimes, less personal. On this website and on our other website www.chiangmai-alacarte.com we have an automated booking system. This system enables you to book a tour on our website.
We have experienced that some people have difficulty making a booking on our website for various reasons. Sometimes they find the procedure difficult and sometimes they don’t have the patience. We also understand that many people prefer personal contact instead of have to deal with an impersonal booking machine. You can also make a booking via email, if you like. We love to hear from you.
Please contact us, if you want to make a booking or have any questions about Chiang Mai and northern Thailand. We are happy to respond to every email. We love to hear from you.
We believe that travel is about people
Recently, we were offered a system of audio tours: pre-recorded commentary that guides visitors through museums, historic sites and city streets. While such technology can certainly be useful, it is not the kind of travel experience we want to offer.
A good guide does much more than provide information. A human guide can respond to your questions, adapt to your interests, notice what catches your attention, share personal experiences and introduce you to people and places in a meaningful way. The conversation, the unexpected discovery and the human connection are often what make a journey memorable.
That is why we value personal contact so highly, both before and during your trip. We want you to be able to talk to us, ask questions, discuss your plans and customize your itinerary. And when you travel with us, you will continue to travel with knowledgeable human guides who know the places, understand the cultures and genuinely enjoy sharing them with you.
Technology can make travel easier. It should never replace the human interaction that makes travel worthwhile. That is something we intend to keep. We believe that travel is about people.
